About Casa do Marquês
Leading the Catering and Events sector since 1989
Our History
Founded in 1989 by José Eduardo Sampaio and Florbela Bem, Casa do Marquês was created with the mission of creating memorable events, combining excellent cuisine with meticulously planned events. With our high standards, we have earned the trust of clients and institutions for all types of events, from family celebrations to state dinners. Today, we are one of the preferred kitchens of the State Protocol and a benchmark in the sector in Portugal and abroad.
Based in Prior Velho, Casa do Marquês has the largest industrial kitchen in the sector in Portugal, with 1,400 m² and the capacity to produce more than 3,000 meals daily. Our experienced and versatile team guarantees a service tailored to any event, from small celebrations to large productions for thousands of people, always guided by the motto “say no to no.” This is our vision and commitment to trust all our customers.
Whether in our exclusive spaces, in venues with which we have established partnerships, or in private homes, we organize events for 10 or 10,000 people, always ensuring quality, precision, and personalization.
Commitment and sustainability
at Casa do Marquês
Aware of the environmental impact of our operations, we are committed to reducing our ecological footprint. We have centralized activities to reduce CO2 emissions and invested €250,000 in solar panels, reducing non-renewable energy consumption by 51%.
We have upgraded 60% of our fleet to electric vehicles and implemented recycling and plastic reduction policies.
We also use reusable materials in our decor, ensuring more sustainable practices in all areas of our business.
In the area of food, we prioritise the use of seasonal ingredients, promoting a more responsible, fresh and sustainable cuisine. Whenever possible, we work with local suppliers, supporting the regional economy and reducing the carbon footprint associated with transport.
Social Responsibility
at Casa do Marquês
We advocate zero waste and take responsibility for minimizing the food impact of our operations. At Casa do Marquês, we collaborate with social solidarity institutions to donate meals in good condition, ensuring that they reach those who need them most.
In 2024, we donated 60,000 meals worth over €500,000. We are committed to continuing these donations, reinforcing the importance of reducing food waste. To ensure food safety and quality, each collection follows strict hygiene standards, including guidelines on cooling, storage, and regeneration before consumption.
