Palácio Nacional da Ajuda
Event Venue
Located on Ajuda Hill, this is one of the great icons of Portuguese history. With a privileged view over the Tagus River, this imposing neoclassical building was the residence of the royal family from the reign of King Luís I until the fall of the monarchy in 1910.
The Palácio Nacional da Ajuda is a museum that preserves the grandeur of the era, with richly decorated halls, tapestries and luxurious furniture. The Throne Room and the royal apartments remain virtually untouched, transporting us back to the splendour of the 19th century. In addition to being a museum, it continues to host official state ceremonies, keeping it alive in the country’s history.
Classified as a National Monument, the Palácio Nacional da Ajuda is one of the few in Lisbon that retains its original decoration, making it a true testimony to the past and a must-see for anyone who wants to feel the essence of the Portuguese monarchy.
The Palácio Nacional da Ajuda is an event venue partnered with Casa do Marquês.
